| Cirsa 1Q results: 57.6 million of operating profit |
|
The company had an operating income of 412 million euros despite having suffered a negative impact of 5 million euros because of unfavorable exchange rates. These results are mainly due to its growth in the main markets of Latin-America, especially in Argentina. The growth in Panama, as a result of amendments and supplements made in different casino rooms allowed the company to fulfill its sales year budget. In Colombia business development was very positive due to the use of TITO technology and the good operations in Río Medellín and Río Barranquilla Casinos. In Italy increased revenues in bars (+17%) were also attributed to the reduced bingo tax. In Mexico, the introduction of new casino machines (Class III) led the company to record an operating profit of EUR 3 million this quarter. And on the other hand, Cirsa maintains over 50% target of gaming machines sales for bars in Spain. Sportium has already 91 outlets in the Madrid region with more than 200,000 pools weekly. In addition, the Casino Valencia building is finishing and will be opened this summer. |

Cirsa 1st quarter 2010 results show a profit of 57.6 million euros, 10.7% more than in the same period of the last year, according to a company statement.
