Asturias has exclusive jurisdiction given by the autonomy statute over casinos or gambling, except for sports betting charge.

 This authority is practicing since the entry into force of Royal Decree 847/1995 of May 30, transfer of functions and services on casinos, gambling and betting from the State Administration to Region of Asturias.

The decree aims to regulate the composition, organization and functioning of the Council for Game of Asturias, adjusted to provided in the Law of Asturias 3 / 2001 of May 4, about gaming and gambling.

The Council for Game of Asturias is an advisory body to study and advise on casinos, gambling and betting matters in the Autonomous Community of Asturias, which is attached to the Ministry of Presidency, Justice and Equality.

The functions of the Council for Game are the followings:

a) Inform the general provisions which dictate in the matter.

b) To issue reports and opinions about the questions of the various Government agencies.

c) Reporting to the Administration appropiated proposals.

d) inform, in case, the annual report.

e) Develop an annual report, including statistical data on gaming development in the Autonomous Community of Asturias.

f) To issue reports and opinions as requested by the person holding the Presidency.
